Privacy Policy
Selectido ("we", "us", "Selectido") operates the Selectido app and website at selectido.com, which connects customers — primarily in Central America and the Middle East — with personal shoppers in the United States. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language and kept it short because we want you to actually read it.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email address, phone number (WhatsApp), country, and password (when you sign up with email).
- Profile information: language preference, notification settings, and any profile photo you add.
- Shopping activity: stores and products you book a shopper for, your wishlist, messages exchanged with your shopper, and details about each order.
- Payment information: when you purchase credits or pay for a booking, the last four digits of your card and a payment token from our payment processor. We do not store your full card number.
Information from third parties
- Sign-in providers: if you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive your name, email, and a unique provider ID. We do not receive your password or friends list.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location (country/region from IP), and pages you view, stored for up to 90 days for security and debugging.
- Cookies / local storage: a small amount of data on your device to keep you signed in and remember your language preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the service — matching you with shoppers, running the booking flow, delivering your orders, and processing payments.
- To communicate with you about your orders (status updates, delivery notices) and about your account (security alerts, policy changes).
- To improve Selectido — understanding which features people use and fixing bugs.
- To protect the service — preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run Selectido:
- Supabase our backend database and authentication provider (supabase.com). Your account, profile, bookings, and wishlist live here.
- Netlify our website host (netlify.com). Serves the Selectido app to your browser.
- Google / Apple / Facebook OAuth sign-in providers, used only when you tap their button on the sign-in screen.
- Payment processor a PCI-compliant payment provider that charges your card. We receive only a token and the last four digits.
- Shoppers the personal shopper you choose sees your first name, the items you want, delivery address, and messages. They don't see your email, phone, or payment info.
- Law enforcement if we're required by a valid legal process, and we'll tell you unless we're legally prohibited.
4. Where your data is stored
Selectido is hosted in the United States. If you use the service from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.
5. How long we keep it
- Account data: for as long as your account is active, plus up to 30 days after you close it.
- Orders and receipts: up to 7 years after the transaction (tax / dispute reasons).
- Log data: up to 90 days.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Access and update most account information from inside the app's Profile tab.
- Export your data — email us and we'll send a machine-readable copy within 30 days.
- Correct inaccurate data — email us and we'll fix it.
- Delete your account and associated data — see Data Deletion below.
- Object to or restrict processing for residents of the EEA / UK / Brazil and similar regions.
7. Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your Selectido account and the personal information associated with it at any time.
How to request deletion:
- In-app: open the Selectido app → tap Profile → Settings → Delete my account.
- By email: send an email to SelectidoShopping@gmail.com from the address on your account, with the subject line "Delete my Selectido account".
Once your request is received, we will delete or irreversibly anonymize your profile, wishlist, messages, and account within 30 days. Transaction records required for tax and regulatory compliance may be retained for up to 7 years in a restricted, non-identifying form. You will receive an email confirming deletion.
If you signed in with Facebook, Google, or Apple, deleting your Selectido account does not sign you out of the provider's app. You can also revoke Selectido's access from your provider's settings — for Facebook, visit Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites.
8. Children
Selectido is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will remove it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard practices — HTTPS for all traffic, encrypted storage at rest, hashed passwords (managed by Supabase Auth), and role-based access controls — to protect your information. No service is 100% secure; if we ever become aware of a breach that affects you, we'll notify you promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are material, we'll also notify you by email or in-app.
