How a Selectido suite beats USPS Hold Mail

USPS Hold Mail is free, and if your trip fits inside its window it is genuinely the right choice. But it pauses your mail rather than receiving it. Your Post Office holds USPS letters and USPS parcels for a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 30, then hands over the whole pile on the last day — or you collect it yourself. It does nothing for anything carried by UPS, FedEx or DHL, so those keep arriving at an empty house. And the moment a trip runs past 30 days, USPS routes you to Premium Forwarding Service Residential: $26.40 to enroll online, plus $29.70 for every weekly shipment — sent only to a US address, which is no help if you are abroad.

A Selectido US suite address gives you a real Minneapolis location that receives everything while you're gone — packages, magazines, important mail, the lot. You log into our hub from wherever you are, see photos of what arrived, and decide: forward it to me now, hold it for when I'm back, or (if it's mail) scan and email it for $9.99 per document.

When you get home, no paper avalanche. Your packages are either already with you or waiting in the hub, repacked and ready to ship.

The scan service — $9.99 per document

This is the one most people don't know they need until they're three timezones away and a tax notice or insurance lapse warning arrives at their porch. With Selectido's scan service, anything that looks important — opened (with your permission), scanned to PDF, emailed to you the same day. The original waits safely at the hub.

Common scan uses: IRS letters, jury duty notices, insurance renewals, court summons, voter ballots, medical bills, bank statements, anything from a government agency. $9.99 per document, no monthly commitment.

Common questions

Does USPS Hold Mail catch packages from Amazon and other retailers?+
No. USPS Hold Mail only holds mail USPS itself delivers. UPS, FedEx, DHL, and Amazon's own delivery network keep delivering as normal — which means packages pile up on your doorstep, get stolen, or get returned to sender after a few delivery attempts.
Is my Selectido suite address a real address?+
Yes. It's a real Minneapolis street address with your personal suite ID, like "1234 Main St, Suite SE-3YF8, Minneapolis, MN 55404." Every US retailer accepts it. We receive your packages on-site at a staffed hub.
How long can my mail stay at the Selectido hub?+
60 days free storage on every package. After 60 days, $2/day. We email you a week before fees start so you can decide to ship, scan, or pickup.
What if I want my packages to follow me overseas?+
From your Selectido dashboard, request shipping to any address worldwide. We compare USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL rates side-by-side, you pick the carrier, we ship. $14.99 flat service fee + actual carrier cost. No markup.
How does the $9.99 mail scan work?+
When mail arrives that looks important (anything from a government agency, bank, insurance company, or addressed in a way that suggests time-sensitivity), we'll text you a photo of the envelope. You reply "scan" and we open it, scan the contents as PDF, and email the file the same business day. $9.99 per document scanned.
