Two things Planet Express can't do
Planet Express is a clean automated forwarder — but two structural decisions cost their customers real money: their California warehouse and their no-humans model.
- 1Real human shoppers
Planet Express is forwarding-only. We have real US shoppers who walk Costco, Trader Joe's, Apple, Sephora on video for items those stores won't ship to a third-party address.
- 2Minnesota beats California for apparel
Minnesota state law exempts clothing from sales tax. Ship a Lululemon or Nike order to our MN hub — you skip the 9.5% you'd pay shipping to Planet Express in California.
- 3Replies in hours, not days
Planet Express handles support through tickets — reported 24-72h response. We answer on WhatsApp, Telegram, email in hours, often minutes during US business time.
On a $300 Lululemon haul: keep $28.50.
Planet Express's California warehouse means most US stores charge ~9.5% sales tax when you check out. Minnesota law exempts most clothing under Minn. Stat. § 297A.67. Same retailer, same items, ~$30 cheaper at our hub.
Free repack on every parcel — not just consolidations.
Planet Express offers free repack only when you're combining multiple boxes (their consolidation flow). Single shipments — the most common case — ship at original US-store dimensions, so you pay full dimensional-weight rates. We repack every parcel regardless.
Big box, small bill. We shrink it down.
Typical save: a 24×24×24 box from Target with 4 small items, repacked to 14×10×10. FedEx Ground international drops from ~$160 to ~$60.

Questions, answered
How is Selectido different from Planet Express?
Two big differences. First, Planet Express is forwarding-only with no live human shoppers — Selectido has real US shoppers walking 200+ stores on video. Second, Planet Express ships from Torrance, California where ~9.5% sales tax applies on most goods. Selectido ships from Minneapolis, Minnesota — and Minnesota exempts clothing from sales tax entirely, saving shoppers 7-10% on apparel orders.
Why does the Minneapolis warehouse save money on clothing?
Minnesota state law exempts most clothing from sales tax (Minn. Stat. § 297A.67). When you ship a Lululemon, Nike, or Gap order to a California-based forwarder, the retailer charges full California sales tax (~9.5%). When you ship to Selectido's Minneapolis hub, that clothing arrives sales-tax-free. On a $300 order, that's $25-$30 you keep.
Does Planet Express offer repacking?
Yes, but it's bundled with their consolidation service and only applies when you combine multiple packages. For single shipments — the most common case — Planet Express ships boxes at the size US stores send them, meaning you pay dimensional-weight fees on FedEx, UPS, and DHL. Selectido repacks every parcel for free regardless of whether you're consolidating.
How does customer support compare?
Planet Express handles support via ticketing system with reported response times of 24-72 hours. Selectido is a small team — real human responses on email, WhatsApp, and Telegram, usually within hours during US business time. When a package needs attention, a real person looks at it.
