This guide is the complete playbook for actually getting eBay items to Saudi Arabia in 2026, including the bits other forwarding services don't tell you about: ZATCA customs, the de minimis trick, and how to handle auctions when you're 8 time zones away from the seller.

Three reasons, in order of frequency:

1. Customs paperwork. A US individual selling a vintage watch has zero experience with customs forms, HS codes, or commercial invoices. Filling these out wrong gets the package returned and the seller loses both the item and the postage. So they block international shipping entirely.
2. Buyer protection asymmetry. eBay's Money Back Guarantee is generous for buyers. On international shipments, sellers face higher claim rates (longer transit time = more "didn't arrive" disputes) with weaker proof options. Sellers protect their feedback by going domestic-only.
3. Restricted categories. Lithium-ion batteries (most electronics), supplements, cosmetics with certain ingredients, alcohol, and aerosols are restricted on international air cargo. Even sellers who would ship to Saudi can't ship these categories.

Seller ships a counterfeit

Solution: Authenticity Guarantee. For categories that support it (Apple, sneakers, watches, handbags, cards), eBay's authenticator catches counterfeits before the item leaves the US. For categories that don't, Selectido inspects on arrival — photos, serial numbers, condition matching. Seller doesn't ship at all
