Why US chocolate actually tastes different
There's a real recipe gap between US chocolate and chocolate sold under the same brand name in Europe, Latin America, or Asia. The most famous example is Hershey's: the US recipe processes milk in a way that produces butyric acid, giving Hershey's its signature slightly-tangy taste. The European version uses a different process and tastes noticeably sweeter and rounder. EU rules also restrict what can be labeled "milk chocolate" — in some EU markets, US Hershey's can't legally use that label. Reese's has similar regional formulation differences. Cadbury sold in the US is made by Hershey under license and tastes nothing like UK Cadbury.
Beyond recipe gaps, several US chocolate brands have effectively zero international distribution: Reese's Big Cup, Sticks, and Take 5, Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme, Mr. Goodbar, Almond Joy, Mounds, Krackel, Heath bar, Whatchamacallit, and the entire See's Candies brand (who ship within the US and Canada only). For these, the only way to taste them outside the US is to forward them.

How we ship US chocolate without melting it
- Tell us your destination and timing. Hot destination in summer? We'll route express + insulated. Cool weather window? Standard shipping is fine.
- We source from cool, reliable inventory. Target, Walmart, Costco, See's storefronts, Trader Joe's (via live shopper). We avoid sun-exposed grocery aisles.
- Insulated packing + ice packs. For May–September routes to UAE, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Philippines, Mexico, India. Adds $8–15 to the box.
- Express shipping. 3–5 days FedEx/DHL Express keeps chocolate in transit before heat exposure compounds.
