Why Indians import US snacks (when India's snack industry is massive)
India's domestic snack industry is enormous — Lay's India, Kurkure, Britannia, Parle, ITC. But the US originals still have a strong pull, especially from Indians who studied or lived in the US, NRI families, and TikTok-era Indian Gen Z. Most-requested: M&Ms Peanut Butter (sold in India only sporadically, usually 4x retail), Reese's full variety (Big Cup, with Pieces, Crunchy, Sticks — Reese's distribution in India is spotty), Pop-Tarts US flavors (Frosted S'mores, Hot Fudge Sundae — not sold in India), Cheez-It (a cult import, mostly via tourists in suitcases), Hot Cheetos (US variants — Limón, XXTRA Flamin' Hot), Trader Joe's Cookie Butter, Nerds Gummy Clusters, Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Sweet/savory crossovers and chip variety far exceed what Indian retail typically stocks.

Shipping route + transit time
From Minneapolis to India we ship DHL Express Worldwide via Mumbai or Delhi as the customs gateway. Transit time to Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad: 5–10 business days. Tier-2 cities (Jaipur, Lucknow, Indore, Chandigarh) add 1–3 days. DHL India handles final-mile in most metros. FedEx International Priority is the alternative.
🌱 Vegetarian-friendly sourcing. Many US gummies and marshmallow products use beef or pork-derived gelatin (Sour Patch Kids, original Skittles, Nerds Gummy Clusters, Lucky Charms marshmallows). When you order, we flag every item with animal-derived gelatin. You can sub for kosher beef gelatin alternatives where available, or drop the item. Pure chocolate (Hershey's, Reese's), chips, crackers, and most candy bars contain no gelatin and ship without flags. We can also confirm if items are egg-free on request.
Customs heads-up for India
India's customs (CBIC) applies duty + GST on most personal-use imports. The de minimis is INR 1,000 (~$12 USD) for gifts — far lower than most countries. Above that, expect ~10–15% basic customs duty + 18% GST on confectionery. DHL handles clearance with the IEC (Importer-Exporter Code) being the recipient's PAN for personal-use imports. We declare honestly; FedEx/DHL India collects duty + GST in INR on delivery, or we can pre-pay via DDP.

- M&Ms full-variety packs — Peanut Butter is the standout
- Birthday and Diwali gift boxes — see our gift box page
- Trader Joe's Cookie Butter for veg-friendly Indians (it's vegetarian) — see Trader Joe's snacks
The questions everyone asks
How long does shipping US snacks to India take?
5–10 business days via DHL Express or FedEx International Priority from Minneapolis to Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, and Ahmedabad. Tier-2 cities add 1–3 days.
How much does shipping cost to India?
Forwarding fee $14.99 + carrier shipping. A typical 5–10 lb box: $55–95 via DHL Express. FedEx is comparable. Per-snack value is best on 10+ item bundles.
Will I pay customs duty in India?
India's de minimis is just INR 1,000 (~$12 USD) — most snack boxes exceed it. Expect ~10–15% basic customs duty + 18% GST on confectionery. DHL collects on delivery in INR, or we can pre-pay via DDP.
Are US snacks vegetarian-friendly?
Many are (pure chocolate, chips, crackers, most candy bars). Gummies and marshmallow items often use beef or pork-derived gelatin — we flag every item with animal-derived gelatin so you can sub or drop them. We can also confirm egg-free status on request.
Can you ship M&Ms Peanut Butter to India?
Yes — M&Ms Peanut Butter is one of our most-requested Indian items. We pick up at US Target, Walmart, or Costco where stock is reliable; India retail carries Plain and Peanut but rarely Peanut Butter, Caramel, or Crunchy Cookie.
Do I need an IEC code or PAN for personal-use imports?
For personal-use imports, your PAN serves as the IEC. DHL needs your PAN for clearance — we'll prompt for it at checkout. No business registration needed.
Do you accept UPI or Indian Rupee billing?
We bill in USD. Indian Visa, Mastercard, RuPay (if international-enabled), and Amex cards all work — your bank converts INR at the daily rate (typically 1–3% spread). UPI doesn't currently process international USD for us; we're working on it.
Can you ship to a Tier-2 Indian city?
Yes — DHL and FedEx deliver to Tier-2 cities, though final-mile adds 1–3 days. We confirm route at checkout. For very remote rural addresses, DHL may hand off to India Post for final mile.
