Amazon won't ship to you. Selectido will.
Amazon shows you the listing. You add to cart. You hit checkout. You get the message: "This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location." Even items that say "Ships and sold by Amazon" routinely block international destinations — sometimes because of manufacturer restrictions, sometimes because Amazon hasn't worked out the cross-border logistics, sometimes because of FDA, FCC, or trade-treaty restrictions.
Roughly 40% of all Amazon US listings cannot ship internationally. The good news: every single one of those can ship to a Selectido US address — and from there, to you.
Why Amazon blocks shipping (a quick breakdown)
- Manufacturer/brand restriction. Many sellers have exclusivity deals — they're allowed to sell on Amazon US but not export. This is the #1 reason.
- Regulatory. Lithium batteries, electronics with FCC certs, supplements, vitamins, certain skincare/cosmetics — all blocked from international ship.
- Carrier limits. Oversized or heavy items often can't ship internationally direct from Amazon.
- Trademark / parallel-import laws. Some brands prevent global e-commerce arbitrage by blocking exports.
- "Amazon Global Store doesn't carry it" effect. If you have an Amazon UK/JP/IN account, you only see items the Global Store has approved — typically a small fraction of US inventory.
How the Selectido / Amazon flow works
- Get your free US address. Sign up at selectido.com. We give you a real Minneapolis street address (not a PO box, not a forwarder ZIP that retailers blacklist). Use it as your Amazon shipping address.
- Order on Amazon US. Either using your existing Amazon account with our address, or — if your card is also blocked — give us your wishlist and we'll buy it for you using our US card.
- We receive and inspect. Photo of every item on arrival, condition checked, batteries handled per IATA rules.
- You pick the route. Express (DHL/FedEx 3–7 days) or economy (USPS 7–14 days). $14.99 forwarding + actual carrier rate.
- Ships with full customs paperwork. We declare honest values to avoid customs holds.
What Amazon products do people forward most?
The trick most people miss: Amazon Subscribe & Save
If you regularly buy the same items (protein powder, contact lens solution, dog treats, baby formula), set up Amazon Subscribe & Save with our US address. You get 15% off + every-2-month delivery to our warehouse, and we batch-forward them. Bulk shipping = lower per-item shipping cost. We've seen customers cut their per-package shipping cost by 40% this way.
What about Amazon Prime, Amazon Music, Kindle?
Use your existing accounts. Our address just functions as your US shipping address. Prime shipping to our warehouse is free (we don't need free outbound — that's our job). Kindle and Music are digital, unrelated.
When live shopping beats forwarding
If Amazon also blocks your card at checkout (some international cards get rejected on high-value or restricted items), book a Selectido shopper. We log in to our US Amazon account on your behalf, place the order with our card, and forward it. $75/hr (15% off 2+ hours).
