What Reship is
Reship is a Vancouver-based package forwarder operating two US warehouses — Hillsboro, Oregon (sales-tax-free) and Sumas, Washington (a few miles from the Canadian border for drive-across pickup). Founded for Canadian cross-border shoppers, now used internationally. You order from US retailers yourself; Reship receives, optionally consolidates, and forwards.
Strengths: Oregon sales-tax-free address, optional Canadian drive-across pickup at Sumas, established consolidation flow, decent international carrier mix.
Reship's per-item handling fees add up fast
- $5 just to receive each incoming package at the warehouse
- $2–3 per item handling fee on top of receiving (a 4-item order = $8–12 extra)
- Storage clock starts at 30 days — items left longer accrue daily fees
- Repack / consolidation charged per package combined into the outbound
- Photo requests charged per photo on most plans
- USD billing — Canadians get hit by CAD→USD FX on every charge
What Selectido does differently
Two things Reship structurally can't do.
1. Live video shopping. Selectido sends a real shopper into Costco, Target, Trader Joe's, Sephora, anywhere — joining you on a video call. You see the shelf, point at what you want, approve every item before they pay. Reship has no equivalent: their flow assumes you can order online from the retailer. For stores that don't ship at all (Costco non-members, Trader Joe's, grocery, store-pickup-only items), Reship can't help.
2. Flat-rate, no per-item. Selectido is $14.99 per package, period — receiving, handling, repacking, photos all included. Or completely free as part of a $75/hr live shopping session. Reship's per-item handling fees mean a 4-item order on Reship costs roughly the same as a Selectido flat-rate package once you've added receiving + per-item + repack.
Book a Selectido live shopping session at $75/hr. Whatever you shop in that session ships out free via our consolidated outbound. A typical 30-minute Costco run = $37.50 session + free shipping. Reship can't compete because Reship can't shop — they only forward what you already bought online.

Who each one is right for
Reship makes sense if RESHIP
- You only ship single high-ticket items from US retailers (cameras, watches, electronics) and the 0% Oregon sales tax matters more than per-item fees
- You're Canadian and want to drive across at Sumas WA to pick up yourself
- You're comfortable being your own personal shopper online and you only need the forwarding leg
- You ship rarely enough that the storage clock and per-item fees don't pile up
Selectido makes sense if SELECTIDO
- You want Costco / Trader Joe's / Sephora / Target store-only items Reship structurally can't get
- You're ordering multiple items in one shipment and per-item handling fees would crush the price
- You want to see what you're buying on a live video call before they pay
- You want a real person to handle US returns end-to-end
- You shop in Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, or Korean and want a native-speaking shopper
- You want to avoid storage-clock anxiety on slower consolidation cycles
Frequently asked questions
Depends on what you ship. Reship charges $5 to receive + $2–3 per item + storage + the international rate. Selectido is $14.99 flat per package or completely free in a $75 shopping session. Single shoe order at Reship can come out cheaper. Multi-item, store-pickup, or anything Costco-shaped tips heavily Selectido once per-item fees compound.
No. Reship is warehouse-only. You order from US retailers yourself, ship to their warehouse, Reship consolidates and forwards. Selectido sends a real shopper to any US store with you on a video call, real-time, choosing items together.
Hillsboro, Oregon (sales-tax-free, saves 0% on retail orders) and Sumas, Washington (border-adjacent, designed for Canadians who drive across to pick up). Selectido operates out of the Twin Cities Minnesota. MN charges 6.875% sales tax but many categories are exempt (groceries, most clothing under $100, prescription drugs) and Selectido shoppers know which ones.
No. Reship's flow assumes there's an online order being shipped to them. For stores that don't ship at all (Costco for non-members, Trader Joe's, most grocery), Reship can't help. Selectido walks into the store with you on video.
Reship can receive return shipments back at the warehouse and forward them to the US retailer — but you handle the return-shipping label and merchant communication. Selectido handles US returns end-to-end on items we shopped: we walk the return into the store, get the refund, credit your account.
English only. Selectido publishes in 9 languages — English, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Hindi, Tagalog — with native-speaking shoppers in Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, and Korean for live sessions.
For straight forwarding of pre-purchased items, both ship same-day or next business day from the warehouse. For shopping-then-shipping, Selectido is dramatically faster: the live session is real-time, items leave the warehouse the same day. Reship doesn't offer this flow.
