If you care about this, use that
Three big things we learned writing these comparisons
1. Tax-free state addresses are real, but only matter for high-AOV electronics
- Five competitors (Shipito, Stackry, PE, FishisFast, Forward2Me) offer warehouses in 0% sales-tax states (OR, NH, DE)
- Savings only matter on retailers that calculate tax by shipping destination — many calculate by billing address (no savings)
- For tax-heavy categories (electronics, jewelry, watches), the 5-9% can be hundreds of dollars on a single order
- For low-value or non-taxable categories, this advantage disappears
2. Subscription + per-feature stacking adds up faster than the flat fee looks
- MyUS: $10/mo + $2/photo + $5/inspection + $1.99/lb consolidation
- Shipito: $10 base + 5% handling on item value
- Planet Express: tier subscription + $2/photo + $3/inspection + consolidation fees
- A typical 3-package consolidation with photos + inspection can land at $30-50 in fees alone — beyond Selectido's flat $14.99 (or $0 with bundle)
3. Live in-store shopping is the only category nobody else covers
- Zero of the 7 competitors offer live video shopping at any US store
- That means Costco (member-only), Trader Joe's (no online shipping), in-store Apple Store (AppleCare valid), and Sephora prestige (often blocked at forwarders) are all impossible through any pure forwarder
- For these categories, Selectido is the only option — competitors physically cannot offer it
