Apple cancelled your international order. Here's why — and the fix.
Apple is the most aggressive cancellation engine in US retail. International buyers report a roughly 80% cancellation rate on orders placed from outside the US — usually within 24–72 hours of order placement, often with a vague "we were unable to process your order" email and no refund timing.
The reason isn't fraud, exactly. It's Apple's parallel-import policy. Apple wants regional pricing (and regional taxation) to stay tidy. They actively block exports via three mechanisms:
- Billing/shipping mismatch detection. Different addresses → flagged for manual review → cancelled.
- Forwarder ZIP blacklists. Common forwarder ZIP codes (90201, 33126, 30303, etc.) are auto-blocked.
- Card BIN screening. International cards get rejected silently.

What about AppleCare and warranty?
Apple's hardware warranty is international for Mac, iPad, AirPods, Apple Watch, and most accessories. Take any of these to any Apple Store worldwide within the warranty period and they'll service it. iPhone is the exception — iPhone warranty is country-of-purchase only. If you buy a US iPhone via Selectido, warranty service has to happen in the US (which we can also do — ship back to us, we walk it in for repair).
AppleCare+ on iPhone is similarly US-only. AppleCare+ on MacBook and iPad works globally.
Region locking — the unlock you might not need
- iPhone. US iPhones are factory-unlocked when bought outright (not on a carrier plan). They work on any SIM worldwide.
- MacBook / iPad / Apple Watch / AirPods. No region lock. Works anywhere.
- FaceTime audio. US iPhones have FaceTime audio disabled in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Pakistan due to local regulations. Workaround: any other VoIP app.
- Apple Cash, Apple Card. US-only services. Apple Pay works internationally.

A MacBook Pro 16" M4 Max base config: $3,499 at Apple US (with Apple's education discount for students: ~$3,199). The same machine in Brazil: ~$5,200. In UAE: ~$4,600. In India: ~$4,400.
