Sephora's fraud system is paranoid. International cards get rejected at checkout, forwarder ZIPs trigger order cancellation 24–72 hours after placement, and even successful orders sometimes get held in "verification" purgatory for weeks. For a category — high-end beauty — where 80% of the cult products are US-exclusive (Drunk Elephant, Olaplex, Tatcha, Charlotte Tilbury US-formula), this is brutal.

Why Sephora is harder than most
- Aggressive billing/shipping address mismatch flags. Different addresses → manual review → usually cancelled.

Shipping cosmetics internationally — what to know
- Liquids and creams ship fine to most destinations under personal-import allowances. We use IATA-compliant packing for any pressurized cosmetics (aerosol perfumes, dry shampoo).
- Perfume is restricted. Some countries (UAE, Saudi Arabia, India) have strict alcohol-content limits on imported perfume. We'll flag risk and adjust quantity if needed. See our perfume shipping guide.
- Customs valuation. Honest declared value protects you. Under-declaration can trigger holds and fines. Cosmetics customs duty is typically 5–20% depending on destination.
- Shelf life. We only ship products with 12+ months remaining shelf life.

A $200 Sephora order (4–6 cult skincare items, ~3 lbs total): product $200 + $75 live shopping if needed + $14.99 forwarding + ~$30–55 DHL Express depending on destination = $320–375 total. Vs. trying to buy the same items in your country: typically 2x the US price after retailer markup and import duty, if you can even find them. Why did Sephora cancel my international order?
Three common reasons: (1) Sephora's forwarder ZIP blacklist flagged your shipping address, (2) AVS check failed because your billing ZIP isn't a US ZIP, (3) manual fraud review caught the international card + first-time account combination. Sephora is one of the strictest US retailers for international buyers.
Why does Sephora maintain a forwarder ZIP blacklist?
To enforce manufacturer territory restrictions. Many beauty brands (Drunk Elephant, Tatcha, Charlotte Tilbury) have exclusive US distribution deals with Sephora US — they don't want product flowing to international markets via forwarders. Selectido uses rotating real Minneapolis addresses that aren't on those blacklists.
Will my Sephora-bought skincare be authentic?
Yes. Selectido buys exclusively from Sephora US (or Sephora Mall of America in person). All product is authentic, factory-fresh, with full barcode traceability. We never source from third-party resellers or grey market. Receipt included.

We use our own Beauty Insider account in good standing for live shopping orders. From Sephora's view, it's a normal US customer making a normal US purchase to a US Minneapolis address. We then forward to you separately.
What's the typical cost for a Sephora order via Selectido?
For a $200 product order: ~$320-375 all-in to most destinations (product + optional $75 live shopping + $14.99 forwarding + $30-55 DHL Express). For a $500 order, the percentage overhead drops significantly. Multi-item orders are much more efficient than single items.
Can I return Sephora items via Selectido?
Sephora's standard 60-day return policy applies to original purchase. If you receive an item and want to return it within 60 days, ship it back to us and we'll process the in-store return. Restocking might apply per Sephora's policy. Note: international return shipping is on you — usually only worth it for high-value items.
